Star Wars Day is May the 4th, and a number of gaming retailers are holding Star Wars Day sales for games based on the popular franchise featuring lightsabers and TIE Fighters. Here's a selection of great Star Wars games alongside some of the places you can find them.

Star Wars Episode I Racer

Anyone who had an N64 knew how friggin' cool Star Wars Episode I Racer was. GOG has worked to for the first time digitally re-release this title just in time for Star Wars Day, bringing the same classic podracing gameplay to GOG, all charged up and ready to go for modern gaming computers. Play as one of 21 podracers across 21 different tracks on eight distinct planets - and don't forget to keep your head down when you're zooming past some pesky Tusken Raiders.

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

Set 4,000 years before the events of Episode IV, Knights of the Old Republic, the Jedi and Sith are in a full-blown war. You are the sole hope of the Jedi Order. Gain mastery over 40 different Force powers and build your own lightsaber in your quest to save the Jedi Order, but be careful to avoid the temptations of the Dark Side.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2017)

One of the latest video games set in the Star Wars universe, Star Wars Battlefront II has had some problems at its launch centering around its microtransaction model. Some gamers might have shied away from this title, but things have changed a good bit since launch (arguably for the better). Take command of an elite special forces soldier in the game's campaign, or hop into multiplayer where you can play as regular troopers and classic heroes of the franchise alike.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2005)

There are many gamers who hold this game up to be the best multiplayer Star Wars title ever made. This version of Battlefront II has had a bit of a revival ever since its online servers had some life breathed back into them. Play a campaign as one of the elite member's of Darth Vader's 501st, or hop into multiplayer and experience robust class-based gameplay supported by a variety of vehicles from the setting. GOG worked to restore the online servers to this with Disney and it works for both GOG and Steam versions of the game.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II

In this sequel to The Force Unleashed, you'll be playing as Starkiller - Darth Vader's handpicked apprentice. Continue your journey from the first title with all-new features including the ability to dual-wield lightsabers. Force Fury massively increases your lethality as a force users, amplifying your powers in combat. Travel across multiple worlds from the franchise's universe as you try to uncover your past.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The seventh core Star Wars film got the LEGO treatment, and LEGO sure does know how to put their own spin on blockbuster franchises. Play as several of your favorite characters from the film in an all-new story that explores the time in-between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D

There are quite a few great combat flight games in the Star Wars franchise, but Rogue Squadron has to be one of my favorites. Taking place immediately after the destruction of the Death Star, you and your fellow members of Rogue Squadron must do battle with the Galactic Empire in X-Wings, Y-Wings, A-Wings, and a few other ships in the Rebel arsenal. Truly gifted players can unlock secret levels like the Death Star trench run and secret vehicles like the Naboo Starfighter.
