Nintendo has announced that a live Squid Sisters concert will be performed next month in Paris.

In a recent twitter post (below) from Nintendo UK, the live performance is set for July 8th and will be performed at the Japan Expo. The Japan Expo is said to be one of the largest conventions in the world, and will be running between the dates of July 7th and 10th.

The date of the event also coincides with the release of the Squid Sisters Amiibos, which were announced back in late April. The duo of amiibo figurines is said to unlock 5 additional songs, and will be priced $24.99 US/$34.95 AUS for the twin pack ($12.99 US/$17.95 AUS individually).

If you wish to see what these live concerts are like, you can check out a previous show (thanks to Nintendo Life) that was held at Niconico Tokaigi, a gaming event held in Japan earlier this year. From what we can gather, the show seems to consist of several holographic projections of the two sisters, as they dance along to tracks ripped from the main game. Attendee's heading over to the Japan Expo may even receive glowsticks as a free promotional item.

In other Splatoon related news, a second set of eight new weapons entitled Sheldon’s Picks Vol. 2 is planned for release first week of June. This news comes months after a claim from Nintendo that they'd be cutting off additional content updates back in January, and a hint from producer Hisashi Nogami of a possible Splatoon tournament.

What are your thoughts on this live concert? Would you like to see one of these events held at your local gaming convention? Are you excited for the upcoming Amiibos next month? Do you feel that Nintendo should host a Splatoon tournament of some sort? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
