Spice and Wolf VR Coming Soon to Switch, PlayStation 4, and Oculus Quest

Spice and Wolf VR, based on the anime and light novel series of the same name, will see release this summer on the Switch's Toycon VR Goggles, PlayStation 4 via PlayStation VR, Oculus Quest, Oculus Go, and PC platforms from developers Gemdrops and Spicy tail.  With the Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, and HTC Vive, versions of the game arriving in Japan on June 4th. The game will also be playable June 1st and 2ed at Japan's Kyoto International Exhibition Hall Miyako Messe.

According to developer Gemdrops, Spice and Wolf VR puts the player in the role of a simple peddler who can interact with harvest goddess Horo and explore the anime's world. In addition, the Switch, PC, and Oculus Go versions of the game will feature an interactive mode not found in other versions of the game. In interactive mode, the player can pet Spice and Wolf's Protagonist Horo's head and tail, as well as interact with various objects found within the game.

Beginning as a light novel by author Isuna Hasekura, Spice and Wolf is a 21 volume series of light novels concerning the titular wolf goddess Haro and her interactions with a traveling merchant named Kraft Lawerence. Highly regarded in both its native Japan and America having sold 3.5 million copies of the series first 12 volumes, and has been adapted into both several manga and a 2 season anime. A sequel light novel manga, Wolf and Parchment, began in 2016 and is presently ongoing.
