NBA Jam was an arcade-style basketball game released by Midway in arcades in 1994 and later ported to home consoles like the Genesis and SNES. The game features 2-on-2 arcade gameplay featuring a variety of popular NBA players from the era, a star player it did not feature however was the Chicago Bull's, Michael Jorden. According to an interview with NBA Jam announcer Tim Kitzrow found on an episode of the Scoop B Podcast a version of the game that did feature Jorden was given to the legendary basketball player as a gift.  According to Kitzrow:

"But a side story to this; the interesting thing is him [Jordan] Gary Payton, Ken Griffey Jr., all wanted to be in the game. Gary Payton wasn’t in the very first year with the Sonics. So we got a call from their agents and I came back in the studio and recorded their voices. The artists put together the visuals and we sent them each individual a large NBA Jam package."
Kitzrow goes on to state that he would love to see if Jorden still had his copy of the game, and if it would be possible to release the unique version of the game to the public.
"So there you go and maybe one day I’ll talk to Mark Turmell and see how if possible legally we could release the Holy Grail with Michael Jordan in it, see it, or at least get in into the Hall of Fame. Some discussion that the Hall of Fame will do some updating to exhibits on the effects of video games on the league and have an old NBA JAM cabinet. That would be great to have the Michael Jordan version there."
Akitzrow also noted that only at most five of the NBA Jam cabinets featuring Jordan exist in the world.

Were you a fan of NBA Jam back in the day, and would Michael Jorden make a good addition to the game's roster? Let us know in the comments.
