Kicking off Sony's first ever State of Play show, Camouflaj's Iron Man VR was unveiled for the first time today. In development for two years at the Seattle-based studio, Iron Man VR boasts a new look for Tony Stark's suit as designed by Marvel illustrator Adi Granov. Camouflaj is promising a "deeply personal and appropriately funny narrative" for their first VR outing, and is hoping to tell "more than just an origin story." Packed with an original story, the Iron Man franchise seems like a natural fit for VR: flying around in a high-tech suit, shooting down robots and enemies at high speeds. There's no release date set, but Sony is promising Iron Man VR will launch exclusively for PSVR in 2019.

Pacific Northwest developer Camouflaj may seem like an odd choice for a high-visibility game like Iron Man VR, especially considering their pedigree. The small studio has only worked on one game before this, the techno-thriller Republique, released several years ago for tablets and coming to Steam sometime after. We'll see just how well Iron Man VR is shaping up at a later date.

Are you interested in Iron Man VR? Do you think Camouflaj is up to the task based on what we saw in the trailer? If you don't own a VR headset, is this the type of experience that might make you consider buying one? Let us know in the comments below!
