Turns out Sony will have some sort of E3 presence after all. Sony Music Entertainment's Unties publishing label will be announcing games at this year's show.

It's worth remembering that Unties is not the same thing as Sony Interactive Entertainment, which controls PlayStation. Unties is an indie label which Sony owns, but the label is completely independent of Sony Interactive Entertainment and can publish on different platforms. Indeed, a report came in last year that Sony Music Entertainment's label was publishing more games for Nintendo Switch than for Sony's own PlayStation 4. With that in mind, Unties being at E3 makes sense.

We're not yet sure what games Unties is looking to announce this year. We do know that both The MIX and IndieCade will feature games from the label. Deemo Reborn, a remake of mobile rhythm game Deemo, will likely appear in some form. The game was originally announced back in 2017 for a 2019 release. The remake will feature prominent PS VR support and is exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Other than that, it's anyone's guess what we could see from the indie publishing outfit. Unties hasn't had the best couple of months. The publisher recently lost the rights to a Tiny Metal sequel, which will now be published by a different studio. Here's hoping the E3 showing can bolster its fortunes a little.

Unties is an independent publishing label formed in October 2017 and owned by Sony Music Entertainment after the massive success of Fate/Grand Order for Sony Music. It's published games like Advance Wars spiritual successor Tiny Metal and cutesy racer Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers. Upcoming titles include SWERY's offbeat The Good Life and horror adventure game 3rd Eye. It'll be interesting to see what Unties has to offer, and they release titles on all systems. We'll bring you more as soon as E3 rolls around in June.
