In a surprisingly coordinated leak, both Steam and SEGA America appear to have accidentally tweeted out a picture that hints at a possible port of fan-favorite Sonic Colours coming to PC in the near future. Originally released as a Wii exclusive in 2010, with a DS version developed simultaneously, Sonic Colours has not since been released on other systems, despite a generally positive reception upon release. Sonic and the Secret of the Rings, another Wii exclusive, has also not been ported and was in fact de-listed for purchase from Nintendo in the lead up to Sonic Colours original release.

The source of the leak comes from two now-deleted tweets, one by Steam and one by SEGA America, both using a picture for a Sonic Midweek Madness sale on Steam that includes art from Sonic Colours. While that isn’t necessarily unusual, as they can use any promotional images of their own brand, the fact that both of the tweets were then taken down promptly can be seen as suspicious. Both tweets were in reference to the Sonic sale that ended on Steam on October 19th. According to one of the keen-eyed tweeters, SEGA Europe also tweeted the same image but we don’t currently have a picture as that tweet was also taken down.

Neither Steam nor SEGA America has released a statement saying whether Sonic Colours is in the works for a port or not. Given that it does not rely on the Wii's built-in motion controllers, it seems like it would be a fairly straightforward transition to bring the game to PC.

What do you think? Would you want a Sonic Colours port to PC or is it okay to skip it? Which Sonic game do you most want to see on Steam? Let us know in the comments below!
