Lamplight Cityan upcoming adventure game by Grundislav Games (developer of Shardlight and A Golden Wake), has teamed up with publisher Application Systems Heidelberg and announced an expected release window of Q2 2018 according to a press release from the publisher.

In a world where America never split from the United Kingdom, former police detective Miles Fordham has taken on a new job as a private investigator in the titular port city situated in New Bretagne. New Bretagne is where Louisiana would be in our world along with a few other key differences, namely the presence of an abundance of steampunk technology.

Players will be able to explore the four boroughs of Lamplight City as they try to solve one of five distinct detective cases filled with false leads, shady suspects, and different outcomes depending on your actions throughout the course of the game. Miles Fordham will explore crime scenes, interrogate suspects, and get his hands on useful information any way he can - whether it's within the bounds of law or outside of it. Each of the game's five cases will take 2-3 hours to complete on the successful path - and that's assuming that you don't get tripped up by any of the challenges along the way that might lead the case to being declared unsolvable.

Lamplight City was originally announced in late September 2016 without a publisher tied to the project. We interviewed developer Francisco Gonzalez of Grundislav Games about the game a short time later, talking about what was involved with the worldbuilding and the challenges of creating an adventure game with a simplified interface. It will release in Q2 2018 for PC and Mac with a full English voiceover.
