Consumers who were lucky enough to pre-order the SNES mini from U.K retailers may want to double check that their order stands.

According to a report by Nintendo Life, the U.K retailer Argos has been reportedly canceling SNES Mini pre-orders. The first reports of this occurring happened on the SNES mini reddit forum, where several users complained about their order being canceled almost a day after the console was announced.

Another report from a user contacted Argos directly and discovered that his pre-order was "put on abeyance," meaning it is temporarily suspended and will receive a message from a supervisor soon to discuss the order.

Argos, a British catalog retailer, has since removed pre-orders for the SNES mini from their website, effectively closing the chance to buy the system, although they were open on their site longer than many other U.K. retailers.

Other U.K retailers have been suffering shortage issues. According to Eurogamer, U.K retailers such as Very, GAME and even Toys R Us have had high demand for the SNES mini, with many of them selling out within hours of opening pre-orders. If anyone is lucky enough to get their hands on a pre-order, many of the retailers are also limiting their stock to one per customer as well.

The gaming world has been in a frenzy after the recent announcement of the SNES mini by Nintendo. The system, which will contain 21 Super Nintendo titles, including for the first time ever, the previously canceled Star Fox 2. Other notable games include several major RPG titles, such as Final Fantasy III, Super Mario RPG, and Earthbound, and Nintendo classics such as Super Mario World, Mario Kart, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Nintendo has also pledged to produce more SNES Mini than last year's NES mini, which became a surprise (for Nintendo at least) seller over the holiday break. The current trends, however, indicate that even with an increased stock, the demand for the SNES mini is incredibly high.

The SNES mini will be released on September 29th, 2017 at the retail price of $79.99. The system has yet to become available for pre-order in North America.
