Devil Survivor 2

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is a mouthful to say, but is a reason to get excited if you enjoy strategy RPGs that involve a post-apocalyptic world where the survivors are trying to prevent the world from being completely destroyed. During an interview with the developers they promised a new character and a after the end of the game extra scenario for this HD update.

The original Devil Survivor 2 came out for the DS to NA February 28th, 2012. It was a relatively in depth turn based strategy RPG involving the normal Shin Megami Tensei style of gathering demons, and fusing them to create the most powerful demons that your main character's level allows. The HD remaster promises more of the same, with a longer story.

If you missed the first game, which according to sales data most of you did, Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker promises a JRPG story involving the end of the world where a small group of survivors must summon demons to prevent the world's end. For the few people who did play the original, it will have a bonus scenario that looks to be similar to Day 8 from Devil Survivor Overclocked a remaster of the original game. The addition of higher quality voice acting, cut scenes, and several hours of additional story and game play is a lot more features that most HD remakes don't add.

Additionally, it will contain three guest characters from Durarara!! according to the developer interview.  The characters Celty, Izaya Orihara, and Shizuo Heiwajima are all confirmed to be in the 3DS game. Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker will release in North America May 5th, 2015.

With the original game only released in NA 3 years ago, and the 3DS being capable of playing DS games it becomes a question of rather or not what feature they are adding is worth a full game price when you can buy the original for half.
