Update 10/17/2016: The closure of United Front Games has just been confirmed. Please refer to our article on the closure for more information.

The original story follows below.

United Front Games' latest title, the Early Access game SMASH+GRAB, is no longer available to purchase from the Steam store. The Steam database also shows that the game was removed and that this isn't simply a display error of some kind. This removal comes just less than a month after the titles launch on the Steam store, and right after having a successfully received free play weekend.

TechRaptor staff have verified that, for the time being, the servers for SMASH+GRAB are still up and running, meaning if had already bought and owned the game you can still play it on Steam.

It is unclear at this time why SMASH+GRAB was pulled from the Steam store - there has been no public notice given either on the SMASH+GRAB or the United Front Games Twitter accounts, and the SMASH+GRAB Twitter account was still posting messages about the free weekend as of just a few hours ago today.

TechRaptor staff have reached out to United Front Games for more information on this removal, as well as to address the rumor circulating throughout the gaming community that the development studio has closed down. We will update this article when we receive any official reply from United Front Games on either matter or when more information becomes publicly available.

Stay tuned to TechRaptor for further information on the future of SMASH+GRAB and United Front Games.

Quick Take

It's very suspect why this game would be pulled from the store right after having a free play weekend - especially when it's rated so positively on the Steam store. More worrisome is the rumor that United Front Games has closed - it's one thing if the game was removed for failing to meet company standards, but another entirely if the development team closed down.

Why do you think SMASH+GRAB is no longer available for purchase on Steam? Do you think it will ever be available for purchase again on the Steam store? Let us know in the comment section below.
