Yesterday on the Shenmue 3 website a blog post was released announcing information about the upcoming Shenmue 3 Trial Version announcement. This trial version is the version available on some of the backer tiers for the original Kickstarter. At the moment while there is no set date for when the trial version will be released it will be around the late-half of September.
At the moment the team is still finalizing exactly what will be included in the demo but are near completion so that they can start working on getting the trial out to those eagerly anticipating it. The trial will take place in the Shenmue 3 starting area, Bailu Village, and will have players completing an objective. After you've completed the demo though you're able to go back and replay it as many times as you'd like. Along with the demo will be a PDF to explain the game to players.
Players on PC will run the game through the Epic Games Launcher and the PC specifications are as follows:

Changing Shenmue 3 code from Epic Game Store to PlayStation 4
To give a further update on those Kickstarter backers who had originally backed for a PC copy of the game for a Steam code that would like to change to PlayStation 4 now that Shenmue 3 is launching on Epic Games Store preparations are currently underway to facilitate this exchange. When changes have been made in the backer survey another blog post will be released including the timeframe that people will have to change their pledge. Players will also have the option to manually change which region code for PlayStation they would like to request too.Are you excited to get your hands on the Shenmue 3 Trial?
