A trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been released a bit earlier than anticipated as reported by DualShockers.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the latest game following the adventures of Lara Croft. This is the third game in the modern revival of the franchise, and it's rumored to be the final episode of a trilogy that began with 2013's Tomb Raider. At the moment, the game's YouTube account only has a short teaser trailer available:

However, it seems that the Microsoft Store has released the full trailer a bit earlier than other social media channels. You can view the trailer directly via Microsoft's website. It's important to note that this is a cinematic trailer that doesn't show any actual gameplay in it; it simply establishes the general background and tone of the game. Titled The End of the Beginning Trailer, it opens with a number of soldiers running through the jungle juxtaposed with an indigenous tribe engaging in some sort of ritual. The soldiers are picked off one-by-one as they run through the jungle.

The trailer then shifts to scenes of Lara Croft running across the side of a mountain while some sort of ritual sacrifice is taking place at a temple. A priest is about to ritually stab a young boy with a knife, but he meets an unexpected fate at the hands of Miss Croft. The trailer concludes with her on top of the temple looking out at hundreds of tribesmen.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is expected to release on September 14, 2018, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. In the meantime, you can add it to your Wishlist on Steam or pre-order it for the Xbox One via the Microsoft Store.
