Skateboarding fans rejoice! The campaign for street skateboarding sim Session has been funded in four days according to a campaign update on the game's Kickstarter page.

There have been a few skateboarding games over the years, most notably the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Skate franchises. Although these games were tons of fun in their heyday, we haven't seen much in the way of skateboarding games save for the occasional indie title like OlliOlli or Griptape BackboneSession seeks to move to a purer form of the genre with a zen-like game focusing on the sport of skating itself, and it seems that players have taken to the idea quite readily by meeting the campaign's goal in just four days. You can get an idea of how the game looks by having a gander at this recently released trailer:

While some skateboarding games have highflying physics or a score attack system, Session is aiming for a more realistic style of play. In addition to the good news about reaching its funding goal, Session has recently released an update to the Indoor Park shown in the above trailer. The map is still fairly early in its "enhancement process", but it should give backers (and future players) an idea of what they're trying to accomplish with the map.

If Session sounds like your kind of jam, you'll be able to get your hands on the game as soon as possible by becoming a backer. Even though Session has been funded in four days, there's still plenty of stretch goals to go and plenty of time to chip in a couple of bucks if you think this is the game for you. And if you're not sure, the developers have a prototype demo available to try. The Kickstarter campaign for Session will end on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at 9:04 AM Eastern Time.

What do you think of the fact that Session has been funded in four days? Do you think it will be able to live up to the legacy of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Skate games? What do you hope to see in the finished product? Let us know in the comments below!
