Sega has announced six new Sega Ages titles for Nintendo Switch. The announcements came during the Sega FES live show. Each of these titles will be made available to download via the Switch's eShop, but they won't be available in any kind of physical format as far as we know.
First up, there's Shinobi. The version of the game for Switch is the arcade game from 1987 rather than any of the console ports. Shinobi is a side-scrolling action game which follows ninja Joe Musashi as he takes down terrorist organization Zeed. Next up, it's Wonder Boy in Monster Land, a genre-busting action RPG with added online leaderboard functionality. Again, you're getting the arcade version of this one rather than any of the console ports.
The third game coming to Switch as part of the Sega Ages line is Genesis RTS game Herzog Zwei. This influential RTS was a big factor in the creation of classics like WarCraft and Command & Conquer. The Switch version is getting online support so you can play against buddies or randoms online. If you're looking for something a bit more action-oriented then perhaps you'd prefer G-LOC: Air Battle, a spiritual successor to Afterburner. Sadly, the arcade version's rotating cockpit probably won't be included here.
Cutesy side-scrolling shooter fans rejoice, as the fifth Sega Ages Switch game announced at Sega FES is Fantasy Zone. You're effectively getting the 3DS version here, which added a few quality-of-life improvements and a secret story mode. Finally, there's puzzle-action minigame-collection-thing Ichidant-R. Ichidant-R is a tricky game to explain, so you should probably just pick it up on release if you're a fan of oddball games that defy pigeonholing.
