Scribblenauts Showdown has been listed for the Nintendo Switch at retailer Play Asia as reported by Nintendo Life.

Scribblenauts is a side-scrolling platformer where gamers can solve puzzles with the help of a magic notebook. Through the power of Maxwell's magic notebook, players can write nearly any word and have their creation come to life in the game. If you wanted to ride a giant winged velociraptor and fire a rocket launcher at your foes, you can totally do that. You're out to acquire Starites, mystical celestial shards that are so powerful that they can't be cooked up by the magic notebook (creativity points to you if you tried that, though).

5th Cell, the publisher behind the Scribblenauts series of games, had gone through a round of layoffs in 2016. They had been working on Scribblenauts: Fighting Words for mobile devices, but Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment had unfortunately canceled the project. The studio has remained relatively silent since then, likely owing to the loss of a number of their employees due to their financial difficulties caused by the cancellation of their project at the time.

Now it seems that 5th Cell may be back in action quite soon. Play Asia, an online retailer that specializes in (unsurprisingly) Asian video games, has listed Scribblenauts Showdown for the Nintendo Switch on their website at a price of $44.99. While the game has not been officially announced, a rating for the game in Taiwan was spotted in December of last year. The listing can still be found on the rating board website; simply search for Scribblenauts on this page and you'll see the game pop up for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The purported release date for Scribblenauts Showdown is March 9, 2018. Hopefully, we'll be seeing a return of Maxwell and his magic notebook! In the meantime, you can pick up Scribblenauts Unlimited and Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure on Steam.
