Saints Row: The Third, one of the many entries in the Saints Row series of video games, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch as reported by Nintendo Everything.

If you’ve never had the chance to play Saints Row: The Third, you’re missing out on a pretty fun open world gangster game. While Grand Theft Auto IV had taken a turn towards the grimdark drama side of storytelling, Saints Row: The Third decided to ramp up the slapstick humor as compared to its predecessor. (Of course, the game still has plenty of serious moments in it, too!) The five-year anniversary of the game was celebrated without much fanfare in 2016.

Seven years after its initial release, Saints Row: The Third is still being ported to new consoles. A game in the franchise called Saints Row: Money Shot or Saints Row: Drive-By was previously in development for the Nintendo 3DS but never made its way onto the system. This will be the first time that a game from this world will be available on a Nintendo console.

The announcement of this game coming to the Nintendo Switch was made during the Gamescom opening ceremony. This news was echoed on Deep Silver’s official Twitter account.

Unfortunately, that’s all we know about the game for now. There are still quite a few things up in the air – what the game will cost, whether it will be a physical or digital download, and just how much of the zany gameplay will be available on a Nintendo console. More details about these things will be revealed at some point in the future. If you don’t yet own the game (and have somehow missed the dozens of sales it’s been in), you can pick it up on Steam or the Humble Store for PC & Linux.

What do you think of Saints Row: The Third coming to Nintendo Switch? Will you buy the game again so you can take it portable? Do you think it will have co-op play? Let us know in the comments below!
