Another rumored remaster is on its way, this time for Tales of Vesperia.

The website Gematsu has discovered a password-protected website, titled tov10th.tales-ch.jp. Following up on this, Gematsu has claimed, through multiple anonymous sources, that a remaster for the 10th anniversary of Tales of Vesperia will be announced at E3 this year.

Tales of Vesperia was first released in 2008 on the Xbox 360 and was the tenth mainline game in the long-running Tales series of RPGs by developer Bandai Namco. The story followed the exploits of Yuri Lowell, a former imperial knight who begins to unravel a long mystery surrounding an energy source known as "blastia." Yuri, along with a cast of companions, will find the true nature of blastia and save the world from evil forces hoping to harness the energy for its own gains.

The game had a re-release in 2009 for the PlayStation 3 which added several features such as full voice acting, new playable characters, and in-game dungeons. It is unknown if this remaster will be based on the PlayStation 3 re-release or the original Xbox 360 version.

Previously, the last released game in the series was Tales of Berseria for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows in 2017.

Quick Take

The Tales series has always been a good RPG franchise. Vesperia is often cited as one of the best games out of the bunch, along with Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss, so a remaster to celebrate its 10th anniversary is not out of the question. It also follows a pattern that Bandai Namco has done before; such as the re-release of Tales of the Abyss for the 3DS for the games sixth anniversary.

Chances are this is true, but we will see what is announced at E3 this year. Personally, I'd love to pick up Vesperia again.
