It seems an Amazon listing spotted recently by GamingTreehouse has revealed the release date of a special pack of three classic arcade games for the Xbox One May 3. Before now the pack was slated for release in Q2 of 2016 (which has recently just begun).

The pack of games consists of the arcade classics Pac-Man, Dig Dug, and Galaga. The pack is priced at $7.99 and is a digital code to download the games on the Xbox One. The product description says the games come with "scanlines, sound settings, and various options including the option to play with the Round 256 bug,"

It's nice to see classic games get released again so younger generations can experience where video games started. Although this pack might not make any impressive amount of money, seeing as emulators exist, hopefully it will do well enough to encourage the re-release of other classic arcade games or even new entries to those series.

As of writing this, the listing is still up so it looks more likely this will be the actual release date and price for the pack of arcade games, but keep an eye on the listing for any changes that may come later.

Quick Take

As I said above it's good to see classic arcade games get released again to give younger people a chance to experience them. Nintendo has been the company with the most drive to release old games, whether because they're having trouble making new ones or just want to cash in on the nostalgia is debatable, so it's nice to see classic games come out on the Xbox One. One game I'd love to see get a re-release would be Joust.

Are you considering getting the arcade game pack? Do you like or dislike old games getting re-released? Which game would you love to see get a re-release? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
