A rumored Apex Legends survival datamine purports to show a brand new game mode and details on two new legends. As with most big games, competent computer sleuths have been digging through the game's files in an effort to find any unreleased content. It seems that they've dug up quite a few interesting things including a new game mode, two new legends, and more. As always, bear in mind that this is a rumor—we can't be entirely sure that everything here is 100% genuine.

The big ticket item is something called "Survival" as reported by Gaming INTEL. Survival mode appears to take place in front of some kind of audience filled with NPCs who will react based on your performance. There are indications that you'll be fighting against NPC bots. although there isn't any 100% clear evidence to this effect.

Additionally, the Apex Legends survival leak indicates that there will be 8 different options to choose from as a host NPC. From the bits we can glean, it seems likely that Respawn Entertainment is working on something that will involve a commentator personality and a live (NPC) audience. What exactly players will be doing, though, still isn't entirely clear.

The Apex Legends survival leak rumor also includes some news about two new Legends. References to files indicate that there are sound effects for "Octane" and "Wattson". Octane appears to have a "stim" ability and Wattson appears to have something called a Tesla Trap.

There are several caveats to consider with this Apex Legends survival leak. The first and most important is that this data can easily be a well-crafted leak. That aside, it is also entirely possible that some or all of these entries in the game's code are leftovers from development. Respawn Entertainment may very well have no intention of developing any of these things further, in fact, one of the datamines posted mentions a wallrunning hero something that Respawn has said they have tested but said didn't work with the game. As always, we'll have to wait and see until we get more concrete details from an official source.
