A brand new update is coming to Rocket League, and with it, a new map, new cars, and new achievements andtrophies, among other things.

This update releases for free across all platforms on October 4th, according to a recent post from the developer Psyonix on the Rocket League Steam page.

The AquaDome update gets its name from the new map coming along with it. This new arena takes the action under the sea. However, like most of the other arenas in Rocket League, the map itself will have no impact on the actual gameplay; the arena is built around the traditional Rocket League pitch layout. The changes are all just cosmetic.

Next, the update also brings two new DLC cars to the game. The two battle-cars carry the underwater theme of the rest of the update, but unlike everything else included with the update, they will not be free. Each car, Triton and Proteus, will cost $1.99 USD each, and they will also be released on October 4.

Besides these two new cars releasing alongside the update, the AquaDome update also brings along some brand new redesigns for already existing free cars. These cosmetic changes will be coming to the battle-cars Road Hog and Hotshot. Psyonix had this to say regarding the redesigns:

To be honest, we've wanted to streamline the look of these car for quite some time now and we're glad that we're finally able to replace the old models with new ones. Don't worry about those hitboxes or turning radii, they'll remain exactly the same!

The update will also bring new achievements and trophies to Rocket League. Just like how past Rocket League updates have handled adding new achievements and trophies to the game, the new trophies will not influence the original trophy list for the game.

Instead, the new list will be added separately from the original. This prevents you from having to get all of the new trophies as well as the old ones just to platinum the game, for example. Check out the new achievements below:

  • GG - Win the MVP award in a game that goes to overtime
  • Trifecta - Score a Goal, Save a shot, and Assist a teammate in a single game
  • Infinite Power! - Activate every power-up in Rocket League Rumble
  • Stopped Cold - Freeze an opponent's shot before it can score
  • Sea Turtle - Head to AquaDome and score a goal while flipped on your back
  • Get Up, Mr. Bubbles! - Equip the Bubbles Rocket Trail and Score an Aerial goal, while playing in AquaDome
  • Rocket Genocider - Make 535 Shots on Goal

The AquaDome update will also bring with it the third edition of the Championship Series crates. In these crates, you can find new and exclusive cosmetic changes for your cars, including decals, wheels, and even a new version of an already existing car.

Do note that while you can trade crates, Psyonix is cracking down on those who sell them along with cheaters. To check out all the things you can find in this new edition of the crates, check out the AquaDome page on the Rocket League website.

Besides the items that you can only get through the crates, the update will also add some cosmetic items to the game that you won't have to get using keys.

The AquaDome Rocket League update drops on October 4 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
