World of Warcraft’s latest expansion pack, entitled Warlords of Draenor, will include a couple of references to Robin Williams. Robin Williams as well as being a great comedian was also known to be a large video game fan, not only was it known that he played Wow and Warcraft 3 he also named his daughter after the namesake of the Legend of Zelda franchise.

Last week after the tragic death of Robin Williams a member of the Wow community, Jacob Holgate, began a petition for Blizzard on to have him immortalized in a game he enjoyed playing so much. Holgate wrote “The loss of Mr. Williams is felt worldwide with a collect intake of disbelief and crushing sadness. Robin Williams was not only an excellent comedian but also a game enthusiast, because of his presence within our community, we the players of World of Warcraft are asking Blizzard to kindly create an NPC within the game that memorializes the actor/comedian. Many have expressed a wish for this to character perform some of Williams’ best jokes within the World’s End Tavern, so that he may continue making us smile long after his passing.” Not long after that it quickly had 10,000 signatures and a WoW developer told fans “We’re taking care of it”.

Now the latest expansion has been datamined by Wowhead and there are three NPC characters called “Robin”. One of the NPC’s is a Djinn, which in look it is safe to assume is a reference to his role as Genie in Disney’s Aladdin. One is a Human Female, most likely a reference to Williams role in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire. The final NPC is just a regular Human Male.

So far Robin The Entertainer isn’t in the game yet and no word has come out on when the character will enter the world or what his purpose will be.

I have been playing all kinds of games for as long as I can remember with a particular interest in action adventure and platforming titles. While I am primarily an Xbox gamer I also spend a fair bit of time on the PS4 and on my PC in VR.
