We here at TechRaptor have long suspected that the world's most prominent politicians are secretly Lovecraftian gods. Seems like The Sinking City dev Frogwares agrees with us if its new Google Chrome extension is anything to go by.

The Chrome plugin, which you can find here, replaces common political terms with the names of Lovecraftian Elder Gods, forbidden rites, and all manner of eldritch nonsense. Frogwares says its plugin "lifts the fog and shows you the true nature of [the] abyss" to help make your browsing time more "enlightening". Some of the headlines it's produced include "How has Crawling Chaos vote affected the UK human sacrifice rate?" and "Azathoth: Russia would've preferred Tsathoggua as Elder God". Whatever your personal politics might be, we can all get behind the idea that all the world's leaders are actually eldritch horrors waiting for their time to descend upon humanity and fulfill their unknowable purpose.

According to Frogwares, the plugin replaces words like economy, Trump, Hilary, Brexit, and Putin with a series of far more fun words and phrases like "human sacrifice" and "Elder God". If you do install this one, it might be best not to accidentally leave it on if you're a political lecturer or a teacher or the like. Still, it's good for a laugh or two.

The Sinking City is an upcoming narrative-focused investigation game set in an H.P. Lovecraft-inspired universe. Development is being handled by longtime Sherlock Holmes dev Frogwares with French studio Bigben Interactive publishing the game. Players will take control of private investigator Charles Reed, who must navigate a town beset by flooding and plagued by an unknown madness. Reed's task is to discover the cause of the floods and avoid succumbing to the madness himself. In an interview with WCCFTech, Frogwares says that the skill players bring to their detective work will affect the outcome of many of The Sinking City's quests. You'll be able to play the game on PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One when it launches on June 27th.
