A release date for the previously announced card game Reigns from Nerial and Devolver Digital has been revealed. The regal card game will be coming to iOS, Android and PC on August 11th. All you do is swipe right or left in this simple card game but the implication of each movement can mean life or death for the king.

Reigns
So many ways to die.

Boiling down a monarch simulator game down the decisions rulers must make, Reigns is a sequence of important decisions presented in card format. Draw a card from your deck to be presented with a question or dilemma. Swipe left or right to choose yes or no. It sounds simple but making the wrong choice can end your reign. Rulers will need to keep a balance between the church, people, army, and treasury while spreading your reign as far and lasting as long as possible.

A video featuring five minutes of Reign gameplay shows just how tough being the king can be. As players make their choices they must appease the different factions in the kingdom while avoiding usurpers who would take your place on the throne.

The art style is minimalistic and cute. Regal music has been provided by Mago and Disasterpeace. You can get the soundtrack here. There are 750 unique cards, interconnected story paths, and surprise events. Each play through will be completely different so no two rules will be alike.

Death is inevitable but the main goal is to keep your dynasty in power for as long as possible. Achievements like marriage, reaching your 30th birthday and siring an heir will give players short term rewards. Long term rewards will add cards and content to the game.

Visit the game’s website or Steam page for more information. Reigns will be coming to iOS, Android and PC on August 11, 2016, for $2.99.
