Update: We've received a response from Ubisoft:

Our team is aware of the concerns raised on Reddit and will be addressing the points that our community has brought up. We issued a title update this morning that has increasing the Steel income for players as well as brought back one of the two Vikings maps: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1618797-MAINTENANCE-ALERT-%E2%80%93-Game-Update-%E2%80%93-March-30th-2017

The team will also be hosting a Twitch stream on Friday at 1:00 pm EST that will address other questions about Hero balancing, bug fixes and more. The stream will be live at https://www.twitch.tv/forhonorgame

Reddit's /r/ForHonor, a subreddit dedicated to For Honor, is planning a community blackout event for April 3, 2017.

Originally unveiled at E3 2015For Honor set out to commit to a realistic combat system involving a mix of warriors from different cultures. However, the game has had its fair share of issues since launch including drophacking & DDOSing, AFK farmers, and complaints about microtransactions. The game has also had a number of connectivity and server issues, ultimately resulting in Ubisoft giving the community access to an in-game booster for free as an apology. The numerous issues with the game have been reflected by the player-count; the peak players on Steam has halved in the last month.

As a result of these issues as well as a perceived lack of communication about the game from Ubisoft, members of the /r/ForHonor subreddit are planning a community blackout for Monday, April 3, 2017. The post lists five core issues. First, Matchmaking is considered to be "the issue that everyone wants addressed first" (although the post concedes that they have no proposed solution for the problem). Some players feel that they are being forced to purchase Steel (an in-game currency) in order to stay competitive. Most critically, they feel that Ubisoft has not done a good job of communicating with the community about the game; they request a response from the company about the issues they have brought up along with details of future plans and an ETA for when they will be sorted out.

We've reached out to Ubisoft for comment on this story. If you'd like to see what we thought about For Honor you can check out our review of the game here.
