Warning. This article may include Red Dead Redemption 2 spoilers.

Players who've gotten far enough in the story will know that you can eventually go to New Austin, the state from the first Red Dead Redemption. Just south of New Austin's border is Mexico, an important location in Red Dead Redemption. Some fans were a little disappointed that Mexico didn't make an appearance in Red Dead Redemption 2, but they were able to exploit their way across the border.

A river blocks the way into Mexico. You can ride your horse up to the Mexican shoreline, but an invisible wall blocks you from going any further. Lame.

Players such as YouTuber ZacCoxTV have discovered a small crack in this invisible wall that will let you sneak across the border. From there you can explore the Mexican countryside in all its glory. Although most of the trees and scenery is clearly placeholder, there are a few bespoke buildings to speak of. Fans will recognize El Presido, the fort from Red Dead Redemption.

The video below shows how to find the hidden route as well as El Presido and the Mexican countryside.

This land mass could be indicative of future single-player content Rockstar is planning, or it could just be for Red Dead Online. Others have speculated that it could simply be background scenery for players peering over the border with binoculars.

There was a similar glitch in GTA V, where players were able to exploit themselves into the game's opening area. People had the same speculations back then and nothing came of it, so maybe don't get your hopes up. It's still a cool easter egg if nothing else.

What do you think? Have you been able to replicate this glitch? Do you think it's a sign of any future content? Let us know in the comments!
