Rebellion, the developer & publisher that is perhaps best known as the creator of the Sniper Elite series of games, has acquired developer Radiant Worlds according to a blog post on their website.

The 70 employees of Radiant Worlds will join the Rebellion family as Rebellion Warwick, joining Rebellion Liverpool as a sister studio to the UK-based developer & publisher. The company is headquartered in Oxford. The newly-minted Warwick division of the company will immediately get to work on projects currently underway such as the 1930's co-op adventure Strange Brigade, a game where four explorers head out on a safari to explore mysterious & fantastic ancient civilizations. You can check out our impressions of the game here.

Radiant Worlds had most recently ceased development on SkySaga: Infinite Isles following a decision by publisher Smilegate Entertainment to put the game on indefinite hold. Radiant Worlds founders Philip & Andrew Oliver will remain at the company that they created in 2013.

The blog post mentions that the Liverpool division of the company will transition to working on other titles in the future based on existing IP like Sniper EliteBattlezone, and Evil GeniusEvil Genius 2 was announced in late June of last year. Rebellion has recently transitioned into becoming their own publisher and will likely dedicate their new employees towards working on the many new projects that they have currently underway.

Rebellion recently celebrated their 25th anniversary and now has staff of 300 at their disposal across their multiple offices in the UK. Their most recent release was Sniper Elite 4. You can check out our review of the game here.
