Prepare yourself for your yearly brush with financial ruin. The Steam Summer Sale 2019 date has been leaked.

The SteamDB Twitter account revealed the date via a tweet posted earlier today. SteamDB says the Steam Summer Sale 2019 will begin on June 25th and will last for two weeks. If that’s correct, then the sale will run until July 9th. Proceedings will kick off at 10 AM PST (that’s 1 PM EST or 5 PM GMT). The tweet says the leak came via SteamCN, an unofficial Steam users’ community based in China. The news has also been “confirmed by multiple sources”, according to SteamDB.

2018’s Steam Summer Sale began on June 21st, while the 2017 sale started on June 22nd. This would place the speculative 2019 date in the right ballpark. We don’t yet know exactly what Valve has planned for the Steam Summer Sale 2019 apart from a ludicrous amount of financially destructive discounts. Last year, the Steam Summer Sale involved a minigame called Saliens in which players battled the Duldrumz of boredom in exchange for rewards. Whether Valve has anything similar planned for this year remains to be seen.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to bust your wallet wide open in the interim, don’t worry. PCGamer reckons there’ll be a Steam Spring Sale around May 23rd, which should give you plenty of opportunities to introduce your hard-earned cash to yet more games. This date isn’t confirmed, and Valve opted last year for a Spring Cleaning event encouraging players to get through their backlog rather than picking up new titles. Still, a Spring Sale isn’t a huge leap of logic, so if you’ve got itchy wallet fingers then keep an eye out. We’ll bring you more news on these sales as we get it.

What are you hoping to see in the upcoming Steam Summer Sale 2019? Let us know in the comments below!

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
