The tactical first-person multiplayer shooter Rainbow 6 Siege isn't quite ready to run out of steam just yet despite its relatively old age. In an act that demonstrated their continued support for the surprisingly enjoyable game, Ubisoft announced that Siege will receive a new map based on a luxurious Tuscan villa, appropriately dubbed Villa.

As part of the upcoming Operation Para Bellum update, Villa will also be included alongside two yet to be announced G.I.S. (presumably the Italian Gruppo di Intervento Speciale counter-terrorism force) Operators. Called "our most competitive map to date" by Ubisoft, Villa will feature wide staircases, narrow tunnels, and secret hatches, with plenty of destructible floors to allow for "diverse gameplay."

Operation Para Bellum will also bring "a breath of innovation" to Rainbow 6 Siege, including a new intel gadget, buffs for Echo and tweaks for the Clubhouse map, and a series of adjustments to dropshotting. Interestingly enough, there will also be a new Pick and Ban system, which is intended to "provides an extra layer of strategy between teams, as each side tries to counter their opponents’ picks during the banning phase." The system will apparently allow for some minor shenanigans when "teams swap Operators for the unexpected 6th Pick."

Of course, you may be wondering why this particular villa was chosen to be the next location of Rainbow's destruction derby. As it turns out, the land is owned by the Vinciguerra, a crime family that specializes in smuggling all manners of things, including rare art pieces. Now that Rainbow is descending upon the location, however, the Vinciguerras are trying to burn documents left and right and doing their best to save their valuables before the world's most prolific counter-terrorism units tear the villa apart.

A full reveal of Villa is scheduled for May 19-20th, where it will be shown off at Rainbow 6 Siege's Pro League Finals.
