The Railroad Corporation Early Access release date has been announced! Railroad Corporation is exactly what it says on the tin: a game about controlling your very own railroad company during the Golden Age of Steam. (The misty stuff, not the digital distribution stuff.) You'll be able to get your hands on it in just a few weeks!
First revealed in November of last year, Railroad Corporation has players beginning to work for another railroad company in order to learn the ropes of the business. You'll purchase and manage historically-accurate train engines, build tracks, and develop the business as you play. Even a seemingly simple task like laying track will be complicated by the various types of terrain you'll encounter in the game — you'll have to dig out earth and even blast through mountains to expand your rail empire! Eventually, you'll be able to start your own company and dominate the industry.
The developers have paid particularly special attention to ensuring that their game is historically accurate. There's definitely something here for you to enjoy whether you're a diehard train fan or someone new to the genre!
Players will have the opportunity to enjoy the Railroad Early Access build starting on May 27, 2019. The developers want to have the game in Early Access for a period of time so that they can make use of input from their customers and smooth out the rough edges. The game includes both single-player and multiplayer modes with gameplay that mixes the strategy and tycoon genres, so there's certainly a lot of variables that they need to shore up in advance of the game's full release later this year.
