You can't keep a good puzzle down. Originally released for the Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable back in 2007, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords combined RPGs and match-3 in a unique way. Now it's coming back with a new Nintendo Switch port of the game announced.

Going under the name Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns, this new version will contain both the original game and the Revenge of the Plague Lord expansion. In addition to this, there will be a new second expansion under the name of Attack of the Golem Lord. While exactly what this expansion will contain is still a mystery, over 100 brand new quests have been promised, and that some of these quests will be branching quests that involve "meaningful player choices." In addition to this, the game will contain five new classes, such as blood mage, paladin, elementalist, and more.

You're not just getting the new expansion and classes. Developer Infinity Plus 2 has gone to great lengths to make sure The Legend Returns is the definitive version of the game. Besides the new quests contained in the new expansion, the quests already in the game are having more lore added to them. Infinity Plus 2 is also saying that they're making changes based on community feedback. Some of the changes include improving the enemy AI, adding more items to the game so you have more playstyle options, and updates to both the user interface and general quality of life improvements. The best part? Players won't have to wait very long for this new version.

Puzzle Quest: The Legend Returns will be launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch on September 19th for $14.99. You can pre-order the game starting today.
