NIS America has released the next wave of information regarding PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness's release in the west.

While previously the company revealed that the title would receive a Limited Edition for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, today the company has something slightly different to reveal: free anime! Every US PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita copy of the Visual Novel will include the first 2 episodes of the anime's first season, available via PSN.

Boxed copies of the game will include a voucher code for the anime episodes - digital copies of the title will probably come in a bundle with the episodes or something to that effect.

Besides the news that players in the US - and ONLY the US - will receive anime episodes with their copy of the game, NIS America also released a new trailer detailing the PSYCHO-PASS universe and the upcoming game. You can find today's trailer embedded below!

PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness will release in North America on September 13th and Europe on September 16th, both physically and digitally for both PS4 and Vita. Both console versions also have their own respective Limited Edition release. The company will be releasing the title on Steam for Windows PC at a later date.

Quick Take

It's great to see more and more Visual Novels finding themselves west these days. Whether it's the myriad of Otome games that Aksys is publishing or titles such as Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 that PQube is bringing over, and obviously PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness. PSYCHO-PASS was a great anime (the 1st season, anyway) so it'll definitely be interesting to see how this title manages to tie into the series' overall universe! It takes place during the first season, so I'm definitely pretty hopeful!

How about you; what do you guys think of today's announcements? Will you be picking the title up?
