NIS America has announced that it will bring princess-raising RPG The Princess Guide to the Switch and the PS4 sometime next year. Previously translated as Your Four Knight Princesses Training Story, the Nippon Ichi-developed title released on March 8th in Japan. Announced as part of NIS America's lineup at Anime Expo 2018, it comes alongside three other announcements. NIS America is also offering a collector's edition for both Switch and PS4 owners. Now with a title that's less of a mouthful, The Princess Guide is set to arrive on our shores sometime next year.

Set in a land wracked by monsters, in The Princess Guide, you play as a knight who's come to tutor one of four princesses. The princesses available for tutelage range from the dragon princess Alpana, to the gluttonous merchant princess Liliartie. Each of the four girls will bring a unique personality and style, and you can further their development by either praising or scolding their actions. Whatever your choice, the princess's abilities and stats will change, which later come into play on the battlefield. There, you can command her directly, and see the fruits of your labor pay off in action-RPG combat.

Despite the similarities in name, The Princess Guide shares no features with any of the Princess Maker games. The Princess Guide released earlier this year to modest reviews in Japan. One of a handful of new properties developed by Nippon Ichi, The Princess Guide was not announced at NISA's press event earlier this year, but the surprise is still welcome nonetheless. Based on NISA's own calendar, this is their first confirmed 2019 release, and as we've passed the midway point of the year, 2019 is not terribly far off yet. With its colorful designs and princess-development, anyone looking for a unique spin on an action RPG would do well to check out The Princess Guide, coming early 2019.
