Pride Run charity donation has been announced by Green Man Gaming. This upcoming indie strategy game has you rolling pride parades through the streets, and now the people behind the game are teaming up to donate a portion of their profits to a real-world charity.

If you haven't heard of this game before, Pride Run was announced back in July 2019 around the time of the London Pride Parade. It's a rhythm-based strategy game where you take control of an entire pride parade and must keep the music going in time to attract attention for your cause. Filled with colorful graphics, even more colorful people, and a rockin' music track by metal-disco fusion band Hard Ton, it's sure to promise an entertaining celebration of LGBTQ+ culture. Now, the devs are turning that celebration into tangible action.

The Pride Run Charity Donation: 10% to Kaleidoscope Trust

The developers have announced that 10% of Pride Run's profits will be going to the Kaleidoscope Trust in a news post on the game's Steam Community page. This UK-based charity is dedicated to upholding "the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people in countries where they do not have their equal rights and are discriminated against because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity."

Neither Charity Watch nor Charity Navigator has data on the Kaleidoscope Trust, but the United Kingdom (where it is headquartered) requires that charities report their financials to the government just like the United States does. The page for charity shows that it pulled in £420,862 in 2018; the detailed financial report for last year shows that they spent the vast majority of their money on charitable activities.

Pride Run seems like it'll be a pretty neat game. If it's the kind of thing you'd like to buy, you have all the more reason to do so now that they're going to be donating some of their income to a good cause. It's all set to launch on October 11, 2019; in the meantime, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam or preorder on Green Man Gaming who are also publishing the title.
