In this video, I take a look at countering some of the points made by fellow TechRaptor staff member Micah C in a recent article he wrote regarding pre-orders. There's been some recent controversy that has surrounded AAA titles like Mortal Kombat with its Goro DLC and the lack of details regarding the Arkham Knight pre-orders. Needless to say there's been quite a movement to not preorder, Micah in his article pointed out the consumer side of things, as well as pointed to past videos he created on the subject. While I don't disagree with him entirely, I do disagree with him on the overall message: that beyond the damage a lack of quality control has had on them,  pre-orders still are broken at the core. Of course, being the YouTuber that I am, I did it in video form. I take a look at the reasons to pre-order and what has changed over the last decade or so, where the problem with the current quality control of the industry has created in terms of pre-orders, and what is a better alternative to offer in terms of pre-order incentives.

Do you think that pre-orders need to be buried ten feet in the ground, or is there still some use that can come out of them in some way? Do you think the industry will listen to the ever growing outcry against pre-orders, or will they dig their heels in? And is there a game that you have pre-ordered lately that has delivered on its promises, rather then disappoint you in the end?

To finish this off, I'm going to try to cover one topic in the industry a week, and would be curious on what type of topics that the readers would like to see covered. I'm always willing to experiment with things, so if you have some topics related to the gaming industry that you'd like to see me cover (in particular, with the games side of the industry specifically), let me know in the comments to this article.
