A new video has been made available by The Pokémon Company for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, the next games in the wildly popular Pokémon video game franchise. This video, viewable below, further confirms some information from leaked CoroCoro scans that we reported upon on October 12, 2016.
The video first showcases Silvally, the evolution of Type: Null, has the unique ability of RKS System, which allows Silvally, normally a Normal-type Pokémon, to change into any other type based on what item it is holding. Silvally also has a unique move called Multi-Attack, which again is typed based on what item Silvally is holding.
Next up are two evolutions for the Dragon-typed Jangmo-o; Jangmo-o evolves into Hakamo-o, which evolves into Kommo-o, both of which are Dragon/Fighting and bear either the Bulletproof or Soundproof abilities. Kommo-o has access to a unique move called Clanging Scales; the exact details on how it works aren’t known at this time, but it is known that it involves Kommo-o scraping its scales against each other as a part of the attack and that using it causes Kommo-o’s defense to drop afterward.
We also have two confirmed evolutions for the pure-Grass type Bounsweet; its first stage evolution is called Steenee, and its final stage evolution is Tsareena. Steenee has either Leaf Guard or oblivious as its abilities, while Tsareena has Leaf Guard and a brand new ability called Queenly Majesty, which causes priority moves to fail when used. Tsareena has access to a unique move called Trop Kick, which causes the opposing Pokémon’s Attack stat to drop.
The final new Pokémon revealed in this trailer is an evolution for Cutiefly called Ribombee, which is a Bug/Fairy Pokémon with the abilities Honey Gather and Shield Dust.
We also have confirmation on the Alolan forms of Grimer and Muk; both of these are Dark/Poison types in Alola, and can have either Poison Touch or Gluttony as their abilities.
The trailer also revealed two new story characters that players will encounter on their journey through the Alola region; the first is Olivia, the Kahuna of Akala Island, which is the second island players will visit on their island challenge trip. The second character is the Trial Captain Ilima, who graduated from the Trainers’ School and now specializes in Normal-type Pokémon for the Trial they head.
Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are scheduled for a worldwide release on November 18, 2016, for the Nintendo 3DS; Europe will receive their copies of the games almost a week later on November 23, 2016.
