Pokémon Gold and Silver

The sequel to the popular Pokémon games, Pokémon Gold and Silver was originally released in 2000 by Nintendo and Game Freak to critical acclaim and is now widely considered on the best games of all time. Many improvements to the classic Pokémon formula were included in Gold and Silver, including the use of held items, Pokémon breeding, shiny Pokémon, and more, creating one of the most complete Pokémon games in the series.

Pokémon Gold and Silver returns on the Nintendo 3DS virtual console, seventeen years after its original release on the Game Boy Color. It is a pure port with one key update, online wireless trading and battling included for the first time in the game.
