Pokémon GO Pokemon GO

Pokémon Go has been a ginormous success the past few days it's been out in the wild, which has a lot of people wanting to know what is next from Niantic, the developers behind the worldwide phenomenon.

Well, wonder no further, as Niantic has begun discussing new features that are coming to their title, including the ability to trade one's Pokémon with friends and people you meet in your quest to become the world's greatest Pokémon master.

In TechInsider's interview with Niantic' CEO John Hanke, he states that trading "[is] kind of a core element," as anyone even remotely familiar with the series is well aware of. Hanke further elaborated upon this, saying that trading would only serve to encourage further interactivity with players. Features that Niantic also wants to improve upon are the Pokéstops and Gyms, as at the moment the two features only exist in their "very most basic versions," with Hanke stating that players will eventually be able to "customize their functions in other ways." Another feature that Hanke mentioned is global leaderboards, which is good news for those trying to become the ultimate Pokémon master.

The game's AR technology was also discussed, with Hanke saying that Pokémon Go could receive improvements to the game's AR in the future, such as to making the Pokémon look more vivid and real. Hanke stated that the current incarnation of their title was a "great first step," but that there is also a lot more that they can accomplish.

Speaking of more, Hanke also mentioned that Pokémon Go could be coming to dedicated AR devices, so that when you slip on your yellow-Pikachu tinted shades, Pokémon can become your only reality. What more could you want?

What do you think of this news? Will you buy your own Pikachu tinted shades? Let us know in the comments!
