July's lineup of PlayStation Plus games are Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and Horizon Chase Turbo.

PES 2019, the 19th entry in Konami’s long-running football simulator, released in August last year. The 2020 incarnation of the series was announced earlier this month as eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 and is set for release on September 10, 2019. FIFA 20, 2019’s other mainstream football title, will release on September 27.

Horizon Chase Turbo is a bright and colorful arcade racing game ported from mobile. It originally released for iOS and Android in 2015 as Horizon Chase - World Tour. The console port came out on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2018. The console versions feature enhanced graphics, new local and co-op mode options, and more tracks and cars.

The July slate of PlayStation Plus games will be available from July 2 to August 5.

Last month’s offerings, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania, are still available until July 1.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and the entirety of each game’s DLC. The Handsome Collection should be packed with enough stuff to tide players over until Borderlands 3 this September, and even has something for veteran vault-hunters with the brand new Borderlands 2 DLC. The new DLC came out last month nearly seven years after the game’s initial release. The new campaign DLC, Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary, was announced and released during Microsoft’s E3 2019 conference. The DLC is downloadable for free for Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection until July 8.

Sonic Mania, though not having any particularly recent surprise DLC, remains the 9.0 out of 10 game TechRaptor called it back when it released in August 2017, with reviewer Alex Santa Maria calling it “a true sequel to Sonic 3 and Knuckles that takes the series to new heights, this is the 2D arcade platformer that everyone who owned a Genesis has been waiting for.”
