What better way to welcome the new year than with a slew a free games thanks to PlayStation Plus? Sony has updated their blog with the upcoming PlayStation Plus games for January 2017.

First up, Day of the Tentacle Remastered. This adventure game has you solving puzzles using the power of time travel. The original Day of the Tentacle was first released in 1993, but thanks to Double Fine Productions, you can now play the game on current generation platforms with improved visuals and sound, among other things. You can enjoy this remastered classic for free on both your PlayStation 4 and Vita thanks to cross-buy. Check out TechRaptor's full review for the game here.

The next game, available for free only on the PlayStation 4, is This War of Mine: The Little Ones. The original This War of Mine was met with overwhelming critical praise when it was released a few years ago, so it was always a matter of when, not if, the game was coming to consoles. This War of Mine: The Little Ones brings everything you loved about the PC version of the game to consoles, with the addition of children. For those of you out of the loop, This War of Mine has you taking the role of a group of civilians trying to endure the devastation of the war surrounding them. Check out our full review of the original game here.

Coming to the PlayStation 3 we have the top-down vehicular combat game Blazerush and the stealth action roguelike game The Swindle. While Blazerush may be available for free only on the PlayStation 3, you can pick up The Swindle for the Playstation 4, 3, or Vita, or all three of them if you so choose with the cross-buy feature.

Azkend 2 and Titan Souls will be making their way to the PlayStation Vita for free this January. Azkend 2 is a tile-matching puzzle game that originally released on mobile platforms. Think Candy Crush on steroids. Titan Souls is a top-down action game with a couple of twists. First, the game features only boss battles. Second, you only have a bow and arrow with one single arrow to kill each boss. Titan Souls will be available for free on both the PlayStation 4 and Vita. Check out the full TechRaptor review for Titan Souls here.

These games will be available for free starting on January 3rd, 2017. That is also the date that last month's games will cycle out, which if you want to redeem you have only a few days left for. You can find out which games they were here.
