Sony has announced its PlayStation Plus free titles for December 2014, which will replace the current roster on Tuesday, December 2nd. The lineup is as follows:

PlayStation 4 –

  • Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition
  • Secret Ponchos

PlayStation 3 –

  • Hitman HD Trilogy
  • Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut

PlayStation Vita –

  • Final Horizon
  • Titan Attacks!

December is seen as somewhat of a rebound month for PlayStation Plus offerings, considering November’s ill-received lineup. There is still no mention of a PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub, however it appears that Sony is attempting to appease gamers clamoring for a triple-A title to be released as part of the service.

Late last month, Sony revealed that Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition would be making its way into December’s lineup, as well as Infamous: First Light in January. Secret Ponchos is an online multiplayer shooter from developer Switchblade Monkeys. Previously only available through Steam’s Early Access program, Secret Ponchos makes its PlayStation 4 debut as part of the PlayStation Plus service. The game is played from a three-quarters overhead perspective, and controls like a twin-stick shooter. Secret ponchos features multiple maps and characters with different abilities and play-styles, as well as multiple game-modes in addition to the standard 1v1.

The PlayStation 3 titles this month need no introduction. Hitman HD Trilogy combines three classic Hitman games, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money, into one package, remastered in high-definition edition. Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut likewise features improved visuals, as well as PlayStation Move support, new bonuses and in-game camera, and story-related additions.

Finally, the first of the PlayStation Vita titles, Final Horizon, comes to us from developer Eiconic Games, the studio also responsible for Total Recoil. Final Horizon is a tower defense game set in space that sees you defending your turf against alien creatures known as the Storm. Final Horizon will also be available on the PlayStation 4, but there is no official word as to whether or not the game will be cross-buy. The December 2nd addition of Final Horizon to the PlayStation Plus service will also mark the debut of the game.

Titan Attacks!, however was confirmed by PlayStation Community Manager, Kristine Steimer to support cross-buy, so PS4 owners will be able to enjoy that game as well. Titan Attacks! feels like an updated Space Invaders game with obvious graphical improvements. Additionally, players will be able to upgrade their tank, which should add a bit more depth to the experience.

Are you anticipating December’s PlayStation Plus Lineup? Is this an improvement over November? Do you already own some of the games?  Feel free to let us know in the comments below!
