PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS 1.0 is ready and raring to go – the game will finally be leaving early access (at least on PC) on December 20, 2017, according to a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account.

The news was originally announced a couple of weeks ago at The Game Awards. In the intervening time since then, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS launched on the Xbox One and passed over 1 million players on the platform in the first 48 hours of launch. Alongside the launch on a new platform came a deal for people looking to get a new console for the holiday season – buying an Xbox One X at participating retailers would also net you a copy of PUBG completely for free until December 31, 2017.

As part of the transition, the game’s test servers on PC will be closed. Some proverbial last-minute changes were made to the game’s test branch based on player feedback; you can read the patch notes on Steam here. One of the major new additions is a Replays function which records the action in a 1-kilometer radius around the player in question, allowing you to look back on the action in the surrounding area. Of course, a large number of other bug fixes and changes have been put together for the patch as well – be sure to click through to the patch notes to read them all.

PLAYERUNKNOWN’s BATTLEGROUNDS 1.0 is primed to launch out of Steam Early Access today, December 20, 2017, at 9:00 PM Eastern Time. If you don’t yet already own the game you can grab a copy for yourself over on Steam, although you might want to wait a day or two as we’re nearing ever closer to the Steam Winter Sale.

What do you think of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS 1.0 coming to PC today? Do you think the game has had enough time in the Early Access development period or does the chicken dinner need a bit more time in the oven? Let us know in the comments below!
