Playcrafting IGDA Partnership

Playcrafting and the International Game Developers Association are joining forces to bring discounts to IGDA members according to a press release.

Playcrafting is a New York-based organization that focuses on educating people in the various aspects of game development whether it's coding, marketing, legal issues, or other areas. They currently have locations in multiple cities including New York City, Boston, and San Francisco. Currently, Playcrafting is working the finishing touches for Play NYC, a gaming convention taking place at Terminal 5 in Manhattan on August 19th and 20th.

The International Game Developers Association, or IGDA, is a worldwide organization comprised of over 12,000 game developers and operating in the capacity of a professional organization. IGDA was the organization that originally founded the Global Game Jam, a yearly event that has since been spun off into its own organization. The International Game Developers Association is incorporated as a nonprofit in the United States and is the largest non-profit organization for game developers in the world.

Playcrafting & IGDA are partnering up to bring benefits for IGDA members who are attending Playcrafting events in New York, Boston, and San Francisco - this will include the upcoming Play NYC convention. IGDA members will receive 20% off classes and events at Playcrafting and 10% off of courses. Game industry professionals looking to attend Play NYC with a Dev or Pro pass (which you can sign up for here) are eligible for a 20% discount off of the price.

IGDA is the latest company to partner up with Playcrafting. Current Playcrafting partners include Microsoft, Google, Tapjoy, and many other companies.

What do you think of Playcrafting & IGDA partnering up to bring discounts for Playcrafting classes? Will you be attending Play NYC in August (either as a regular attendee or in a professional capacity)? What do you think of Playcrafting and IGDA as organizations, respectively?
