Platinum Games, developer of games such as Transformers Devastation and The Legend of Korra, may be working on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game according to a page on the Australian Classification Board website.

Although there is strong evidence for the existence of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game by Platinum this is the first that most anyone is hearing of this title as far as we can tell. The existence of this game should be considered a rumor at this point.

The information was initially brought to our attention via a tweet:

The tweet links to the classification entry listed in the opening of this article.

The Australian Classification Board is an Australian organization that rates various forms of media based on their content. While it may be possible to sell unclassified content, it is generally difficult to do so and as such companies typically opt to have their products classified.

The Compliance Resources of the Australian Classification Board website states that “the material to be classified/certified” must be provided for the application process under the “What to provide” subheading. Furthermore, Step 5 of the instructions for Classifying a Computer Game states that you must provide “a copy of the computer game in an acceptable format”.

These two parts make it clear that for the Australian Classification Board to classify a computer game you must provide an actual copy of the computer game itself. Therefore, it stands to reason that Platinum Games has a mostly complete Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game.

The existence of this game is further supported by a rating page on the Brazilian Advisory Rating System website listing the title Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants IN MANHATTAN with Activision as the Producer. Activision has a working history of producing some titles by Platinum Games.

Do you think Platinum Games can do justice to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise? What is your favorite title by Platinum Games? Let us know in the comments below!
