Planet Coaster Summer Update 2017 Fireworks

Planet Coaster, the theme park simulator developed and published by Frontier Developments, will be releasing the Summer Update 1.3 on June 27, 2017, according to a news post on the game's official Steam Community page.

Initially announced at E3, the Summer Update will be the third major free update for the game. A number of new toys are coming for theme park enthusiasts such as fireworks and Display Sequencers. Have a gander at the announcement trailer to see some of the new goodies in action; it makes fine use of the last movement of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, a composition that was notably associated with fireworks (and explosions!) in the film adaptation of V For Vendetta:

The Display Sequencer will allow you to work with up to 100 individual pieces of FX. Although this can obviously be used with the fireworks coming in this update, it will apply to other existing special park effects like animatronics as well. A Ride Sequencer is also on its way, although what exactly it does has not yet been detailed. Video billboards are another new feature that will be coming in the Summer Update; expect more details about this and other new tools for building your theme park in the coming week.

Three new Scenarios are being added to the Career mode: Miss Elly's Diner, the firework-centered Goldmine Tower, and the space-themed Starship Hangar. Five new coasters will join the existing roster: Bolt (a boomerang coaster), De-Gen (modern train on a more traditional looping-style track), Gnarler (modern train, wooden supports), Power Up (a compact coaster), and Viper One (a multi-launch coaster). Additionally, Power Up and Viper One will have dual-directional launch stations allowing you to send riders in either direction. The three non-coaster rides being added to the Planet Coaster repertoire are Blackout (inverted loop swinging ship), Iron Claw (a pendulum-style ride), and Sky Watcher (a rotating Observation Tower).

Frontier Developments will be hosting live streams on the game's YouTube channel in the coming days to showcase more of the upcoming Summer Update. If you don't yet own a copy of Planet Coaster you can grab a copy for yourself on Steam.

What do you think of Planet Coaster's post-launch content so far? Are there any particular features noted in the 1.3 Summer Update that are particularly appealing to you? What would you like to see added to the game next? Let us know in the comments below!
