Plaid Hat Games, creators of Stuffed Fables and Tail Feathers, have announced a brand new game about creating your own monsters. Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein is an upcoming worker placement game that pits 2 - 4 players against one another in a race to construct their own monsters. Steal, bribe, and murder your way to a collection of suitable parts and try to be the first one to catch a lightning bolt and bring your creation to life.

Abomination: The Heir of Frankenstein is set 20 years after the events of the famous Mary Shelley book and follows the exploits of a group of upcoming scientists. Each player controls a scientist and attempts to follow in the footsteps of Dr Frankenstein himself, creating their own monsters to try and match their predecessor. Things aren't going to be that easy though; Frankenstein's friend Captain Robert Walton swore to rid the world of his monster and the evil it brings to the world. Unfortunately, that oath extends to any scientists also trying to replicate Frankenstein's work, as if having to deal with grave robbing and murder wasn't hard enough.

The game is available for pre-order right away over at Plaid Hat Games' website and features resource management, worker placement, and various ways to finish out the game. There are also various objectives and a scoring system, which suggests that maybe finishing your monster first isn't the best way to victory. There is no news yet on a release date for the game but it is expected to release this summer. If you want an advanced preview, you can download the rule book here and take a look at how the game functions mechanically.
