Ace Attorney 6

Today Capcom has officially announced both the Western name and release date for their upcoming adventure title, Ace Attorney 6.

Entitled Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice, the game is expected to launch later in September, with the Japanese version scheduled for June 9th. Released as a digital download, the title is said to be priced around $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. No news as of yet as to whether or not Spirit of Justice would be receiving an iOS release.

In addition to the games announced, Capcom has also released both an English trailer (below) and new information regarding the titles plot synopsis. Set within the Kingdom of Khura’in, Spirit of Justice takes place in country of lawyerless trials. Owing to their strong supernatural beliefs, courtrooms under Kura'inese laws have given rise to the usage of the Water Mirror, a supernatural object which can recall the victims last memories leading up to their death. As a result, defense attorneys within the kingdom have since been persecuted and wiped out, for the crimes defending guilty suspects.

Meanwhile back at the Wright Anything Agency, Apollo Justice faces his "own challenges" as he tries to hold down the fort with his current case.

Following the trailers release, a demo has also been launched in Japan. Below is a video for the titles prologue, which establishes the titles current setting and Wrights motives for visiting this strange foreign country.

Along with our two protagonists, Dual Destinies Athena Cykes, trilogy companion Maya Fey, and Apollo Justice's Trucy Wright are said to make a return for this upcoming title. In a recent Famitsu article (courtesy to Nintendo Everything), Simon Blackquill and series favorite Miles Edgeworth are also expected to make an appearance.

While Capcom has issued a press statement that more gameplay details is said to emerge "within the coming months", previously we reported that Ace Attorney 6 would be utilizing a new investigation procedure as part of the titles new trial system. Entitled the “Multi-Angle Video Identification”, players will be shown two videos of a particular crime scene, both differing in alternate perspectives. With this new system, players can pause, fast-forward, and rewind to point out any inconsistencies found within the footage.
