The data analysts over at GfK have once again published their weekly list of physical sales numbers in the United Kingdom. Last week, we saw Mass Effect: Andromeda entered its second week in the top spot, but the release of Persona 5 has ended the game's reign at the top of the charts. For a full top 40 list you can go here. You can also read on to find out who is where in the top 10.
As mentioned above, Atlus' and Deep Silver's Persona 5 (early impressions can be found here) came in at first place this week, dethroning Bioware's Space Opera set in the distant galaxy of Andromeda. In Persona 5, you'll assume the role of a new student at Tokyo's Shujin Academy. The game has a heavy focus on narrative and social interaction with the myriad of characters in the game. The majority of your time with the game is split between developing relationships with the game's characters and crawling through the game's dungeons for quests and loot in turn-based battles.
Let's take a look at the rest of the top 10:
- Persona 5
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands
- LEGO Worlds
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Mass Effect: Andromeda
- FIFA 17
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- LEGO City Undercover
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
- Overwatch
Then we can move right onto Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar's open world game is still performing admirably leading to the game moving up one rank in the top 10 despite being released years ago. Rockstar has managed to keep that game interesting to many people, and them releasing new content for the online portion of the game surely is working out in their favor.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is rapidly making its way out of the top 10 after 2 weeks of being in first place, resting on fifth place this week. FIFA 17 has moved up one spot this week to sixth place, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild regained a rank giving it the seventh spot on the top 10. Rounding out the top 10 are LEGO City Undercover entering the charts in eighth place, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in ninth place and Blizzard Entertainment's Overwatch re-enters the top 10, possibly due to a new event coming to Overwatch on April 11.
