Today at PC Gaming show, Al Bickham from Creative Assembly showed up to discuss the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 2. At it he confirmed there were 4 new races in the second part of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy, and focused on the Lizardman and High Elves, refusing to confirm the fourth race that has been teased previously.
The game showed a quest battle – the Battle of the Fallen Gates as the High Elves and Lizardman fought as they each work to fix the vortex as shown in this gameplay first look:
They also revealed the release date, it is releasing September 28th, 2017 and that there was an early adopter bonus that if you get the game early (according to their FAQ on Serpent God and Early Adopters, that will be pre-order and first week purchase) you will get the new race pack for Total War: Warhammer 1 for free, although others can purchase it. The race that it is will be revealed ‘very soon’ they have written in that same FAQ.
After they showed the release date, they discussed again that post-launch they will be releasing an update to combine the regions from Total War: Warhammer 1 and Total War: Warhammer 2 to make a larger campaign.
Today also announced a special collector’s edition – The Serpent God Edition that they have available for preorder at $149 on their website. This edition includes: Serpent God ‘lizard skin’ packaging with integrate art book, an embossed steel case, a mini-strategy guide, sticker sheet, canvas campaign map with exclusive Lizardman Artwork, ‘Stone Effect’ puzzle sphere, carved bone effect ‘teeth’ totems, ‘Saurus Blade’ USB with Black Library E-Books USB Pendant and the early adopter bonus content, which is the new race to be announced for Warhammer 1.
