Mavericks: Proving Grounds is a battle royale from Automaton Studios. It has 1,000 concurrent players.
Automaton Games CEO James Thompson came onto the stage to share some more info. He says the goal with this game, especially with the larger number of players, is to combine scale with the depth of simulation. There's a lot more information in the game for players to process now, such as the amount of foliage.
The game will provide a persistent world which you enter through the capital. It will be an MMO experience.
The website just launched, and you can sign up for a closed beta. Do so before June 17 for some special E3 bonuses.
